What amazes me the most about Hawaiian Palm Baskets, is the process that it takes to create each little natural work of art. You can read about it here. The artist, Amy, has been making and perfecting them for twelve years….and she’s also part of the “Kauai Made” program which ensures that each product is made right there on Kauai!
The handbags from Denise Tjarks couldn’t be more fun! Many of them are made from repurposed mu’umu’us and vintage Hawaiian fabrics which makes them bright and cheery! Perfect for spring and summer…or if you’re lucky enough to live in paradise *sigh*
I think the little goods from Bitty Bambu are darling. These adorable kids clothes, pillowcases and burp-cloths are from Maui. I think her designs are really fresh…I love the colors and the simple designs she uses. Perfect for the little one in your life!
As this is being posted, my family and I have escaped from the cold Chicago weather, and are in Hawaii for winter break {woo hoo!!}. It’s one of the advantages of my husband’s work traveling…we accumulate gobs of frequent flyer miles + hotel points {hotel and airfare were free for this trip!}.
I thought that while I am away, that I’d post about some super-cute indie folks from Hawaii.
The first is Kira Ferrer, from Maui. I just adore the stacking rings {she offers similar styles with different stones on her site}. Really love her style!
The handbags from Corrente are totally drool worthy. I love the grey bag on the left. Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. The line is only three years old, and all of the bags are made in Brooklyn. Very impressive for such a young company!
