From Brooklyn, mydearthing is fantastic indie clothing label designed by Lauren Jones, a former knitwear designer for Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie…{this gal knows her stuff}. All the pieces have great style, and are so wearable!! I love every single piece
There’s a great interview about Lauren on the blog kaKofonie of si(gh)lenS {looks like Lauren and I share the same taste in music…especially kexp.org!}…I suggest you check it out!
I’m loving all of the indie clothing designers that are popping up on Etsy these days. Need It is a great example, and I especially love the cozy looking cardigans….I can’t believe I’m already jonesin’ for fall clothes…remind me of this when I’m complaining about the winter weather, would ya?!
Another one of the wonderful vendors I got to meet this past weekend is Julie from Juliet Jewelry. We shared lots of great stories…what a fantastic person she is! We also share the same favorite quirky movie: “Harold and Maude”…
I really hope you can tell by the photos just how gorgeous her jewelry is. Her booth was right next to ours, so it was VERY dangerous for me to be so close to such lovely things. Her pieces called to me {“Stacy…buy me” is what they were saying}. I love the necklace in the center of the picture above …and I’ve worn the piece I bought from her every day this week.
Time for some cozy scarves and sweaters…this time, from Elyse C. Bec. She’s a friend of a friend {thanks Karen for the introduction!}. Her scarves are beautifully made, and she has some super sweet sweaters for wee ones as well. Not only that, her sweaters are fair trade {I just love this!}. Here’s what she writes about it on her site:
“Elyse C. Bec Designs and SuperCute! support fair-trade, talented artisans, schooled in the ancient traditions, from around the world, most of whom count on this as their source for supporting their families. Our knitters, mostly single mothers, are literally knitting their way out of poverty through the help of our contracts to produce my designs.”
