Nonpareil sprinkles of indie style Sun, 30 Jan 2011 22:53:15 +0000 en-US hourly 1 bloggy break. Sun, 30 Jan 2011 22:53:15 +0000 Hello everyone! It’s been AGES since I’ve written…I’ve been so busy with my new Thai bodywork business…and I’m starting yoga teacher training on February 1…so I thought I’d make my break from blogging official…I’ll make a post every month or so…and hopefully you’ll stop by when I do…but meanwhile, I’ll be missing all the wonderful people I’ve connected with over the years through my blog! You can always friend me on Facebook to keep in touch!

Meanwhile, you can visit my other website…it’s Blissed Out Bodywork.

gorgeous ceramics. Mon, 06 Dec 2010 18:51:11 +0000

What fantastic ceramics from Colorado based artist, Elizabeth Robinson. I love her mix of patterns, and her color combos…that little splash of teal-blue {the one that matches my site!!}…and that mug!!! I think it may have the most perfect shape.

philly style. Mon, 29 Nov 2010 22:06:47 +0000

I’m loving these enameled bangle sets from Bullfinch & Barbury…I loved wearing stacks of bangles in the ’80s {I’m seriously dating myself, I know!!}…and I think I’d love to have a stack of these on my arm…now to decide which ones to choose!!

thai style. Thu, 28 Oct 2010 15:11:43 +0000

What a busy six months it has been!! I just graduated from the Chicago School of Thai Massage on Sunday…which I’m very excited about…AND while looking through Etsy a couple of days later, I found these SUPER cute leather goods that are made in Thailand. The shop is called RN & TN. I love the colors and designs…think I may have to buy a wallet as a graduation present for myself!!

organically inspired. Mon, 04 Oct 2010 19:10:54 +0000

I adore the chunky stacked druse ring from Carrie Bilbo {above, right}…and go to her website to visit it on occasion…Sigh {I have issues, I know!!}. Many of her pieces are inspired by nature…from silver rings that look like twigs to necklaces that have cicada wings in them. Gorgeous.

buenos aries inspiration. Fri, 27 Aug 2010 08:12:00 +0000

I long to visit Buenos Aires *sigh*….South America is top on my wish list of travel spots…

Meanwhile, I’ll just admire these fun, funky bags made from the same vintage Naugahyde that can be found on the buses in Buenos Aires. Never has vinyl looked so good! They are from Viva Zapata…and styles sell really quickly…so if you see one you like, snag it before it’s gone!

new shoes kinda happy. Thu, 26 Aug 2010 15:00:21 +0000

OOH!! I love Colorfly Studio’s artwork…they make me “new shoes kinda happy” {how great is that print?!}. Artist Jen is super sweet, and has a great blog along with her fun prints and things in her Etsy shop. Check them both out!

stylish safety. Wed, 25 Aug 2010 16:51:33 +0000

The sweet folks at Ila Security sent me the Dusk personal alarm….it’s the little flowery one on the top right. It hooks to my purse, and not only does it look cute, but it “emits a piercing, high decibel female scream designed to shock and disorientate an attacker”. Yikes!

I’m happy to say that I haven’t had to use it yet…and I can’t bring myself to pull the little chain to hear what it sounds like…{maybe I can convince my son to don some earplugs and pull the chain?!}. I do carry it with me any time I am walking by myself in the city at night {it’s not often…but JUST in case…}. They have other personal safety products too…some of which are shown above. Not all of their products are available in the states…visit the Ila Security site to check availability.

earthy ceramic goodness. Thu, 12 Aug 2010 01:37:31 +0000

I’m completely enamored by Nancy Bauch’s ceramics. Her studio is called White Forest Pottery and has so many absolutely gorgeous pieces! Each of them has such an organic quality…and, of course, I love how the colors match my blog!!

Nancy also takes part in the Water Mala project. I bought one of her little water mala bowls {bottom, right} which sits on my kitchen windowsill.

boho bag bliss. Tue, 10 Aug 2010 03:35:25 +0000

I’ve been wanting a funky boho bag ever since I saw the Simone Camille bags on Who What Wear…but $650 isn’t exactly my handbag budget. SO, I found some super-cute bags that Dazzling Lanna has on her Etsy site. They are from Chiang Mai…and I just LOVE them! Most of them are made from vintage Hmong baby carrier fabric….fun style at a MUCH better price point.
