I think that I become more tactile as I get older…I always have to be touching items when I shop…and I have a *thing* about coffee mugs {they just have to feel right}. Maybe that’s what attracts me to London Clay Birds. I just want to hold one in my hand…They are made of both hand-carved wood and clay…
Here’s the artist’s description about the clay:
Made using London clay – a marine deposit from the Palaeogene period, 50/60 million years ago, back when a warm tropical sea covered London. The clay is straight from the earth – dug out from where a Victorian Workhouse once stood in Islington.
Beautiful!
I’m totally in love with the work by LuLu in her shop My Pink Turtle Studio. My favorites are her Frida Kahlo prints…I adore the bright colors, and the sweet faces of all of her girls. LOVE!
LuLu is running a sale in her shop until the end of November – if you buy two prints, you get one free. I think they’d make great gifts! You can learn more about this fabulous artist by checking out her blog!
I discovered the artwork of Noodle and Lou Studio on the blog Colorfly Studio the other day. It’s the perfect time of year to show off these adorable Halloween-y prints!! She’s a local gal too {meaning, in a suburb of Chicago…}…It’s great to find such fantastic talent so close by! She has a great blog too!
I really like Paulette Insall’s paintings…each one has a story behind it. Love the colors she uses {lots of greens and blues}. How’s that for a sophisticated art review?! Anyhow, I really like her work….and I think you will too.
