New York based Lex Luxe jewelry uses a really interesting technique on some of their designs. It’s called “Keum-Boo”, and is the ancient Japanese art of burnishing 24kt gold onto sterling silver. I think the result is gorgeous…like the necklace in the center…I’m smitten. I really love all of the pieces. Had a hard time narrowing down a few to post here!

Eninaj has absolutely stunning jewelry. Janine, the artist, {her biz name is hers spelled backwards} was born in Uruguay, and has lived in Switzerland, Panama…and now lives with her family in Israel. Her worldly travels must influence her beautiful work…it’s really quite incredible. It’s hard for me to choose a favorite…but I think it might be the silver necklace {above, left}

Now I’m ready for a trip to an exotic place…anyone want to join me?!

a beautiful collaboration.

I’ve been a fan of Art Mind‘s ceramics for a while {here’s my post}, and was excited to see the collaboration with Lila Ruby King…I think their porcelain jewelry pieces are beautiful {especially the earrings with the red string!!}. More styles will be posted in February, so make sure you check back! Lila Ruby King strives to make her business carbon neutral, too….win win!

I just love the tagline for the jewelry designs by i am dorkas: “modern jewelry for the ancient soul”. I especially love the carved wooden rings…and her earrings and bracelets made from watch hands…you’d better get her pieces while you can…her work is being found on all sorts of indie-loving sites…I bet she’ll be selling out soon!

maui wow.

As this is being posted, my family and I have escaped from the cold Chicago weather, and are in Hawaii for winter break {woo hoo!!}. It’s one of the advantages of my husband’s work traveling…we accumulate gobs of frequent flyer miles + hotel points {hotel and airfare were free for this trip!}.

I thought that while I am away, that I’d post about some super-cute indie folks from Hawaii.

The first is Kira Ferrer, from Maui. I just adore the stacking rings {she offers similar styles with different stones on her site}. Really love her style!
